Senior Companions The Senior Companion Program, a component of the National Senior Service Corps. matches volunteers 60 and older with isolated elders who would benefit from regular social visits. They may accompany the elder to a medical appointment or to a meal at the nutrition site. They may go for walks, play games, or just reminisce. The program is sponsored by the Age Center of Worcester Area Inc. The Corporation of National Service, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, and participating agencies provide funding for this program. Elder Services of Worcester Area, Inc. is one of twenty volunteer stations in Worcester and the surrounding towns.
